Terra Towne, Ph.D.

Terra is a California-licensed psychologist and owner of Terra Towne Psychotherapy and Consultation, which she founded in 2021. She earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of North Dakota in 2017 and completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the UCSD Eating Disorders Center in 2019. For the past five years, Terra worked as a staff psychologist on the pediatric, adolescent, and adult treatment teams and served as the program manager of the intensive family treatment team at the UCSD Eating Disorders Center. She continues to hold the position of voluntary assistant clinical professor in the UCSD Department of Psychiatry. Terra’s therapeutic style is warm, authentic, and collaborative. She is passionate about providing evidenced-based treatment and is one of the only therapists in San Diego certified in Family-Based Treatment (FBT) by the Training Institute for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders. In her free time, she enjoys living the San Diego beach life, running with her husband and friends, trying new restaurants, and traveling to the east coast to visit family and friends.

Brenna Yob, AMFT

Brenna Yob is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who has been working with the eating disorder population since 2022. Brenna graduated with her BS in Psychology from UC San Diego in 2020 and earned her MA in Marital and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego in 2023. During her time at USD, Brenna completed her practicum at the UCSD Eating Disorders Center where she gained clinical experience working with individual patients and their families while also providing group therapy. Brenna found that during her practicum year she gained a passion for working with pediatric patients, as well as their families, and has continued working at the UCSD Eating Disorders Center since graduation. Brenna has experience utilizing evidence-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Family Based Treatment (FBT) to treat feeding and eating disorders, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, meditation, and spending time with her cat.

Dr. Neha J. Goel is a Psychological Associate who is especially passionate about eating disorders research and treatment and loves collaborating with families to empower them to take ownership of their care. Neha graduated with BAs in Psychology and American Studies from the University of California, Berkeley in 2015 and obtained her doctorate in counseling psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2024. Neha also completed her clinical residency in 2024 at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego and the adolescent and pediatric rotations at the UCSD Eating Disorders Center (UCSD EDC). In addition to her outpatient work, Neha is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the UCSD EDC. Neha has numerous years of experience delivering evidence-based treatments, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness and acceptance-based therapies (MABT), trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT), and interpersonal process therapy (IPT) for eating, mood, trauma, and anxiety disorders in adults, adolescents, and children. Neha uses a multicultural, person-centered approach to therapy, such that treatment accounts for an individual’s/family’s various identities, cultural backgrounds, and perspectives, and is personalized to match the diverse needs of the client(s). In her free time, Neha enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling, watching true crime documentaries, and spending time with her pets.

Dr. Gabby Pero is a Registered Psychological Associate who specializes in treating eating disorders in adults and teens. Gabby received her PsyD in Clinical Psychology at Alliant International University, California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) in San Diego, CA. She also received her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from CSPP, as well as her B.A. in Psychology with a music minor from Pepperdine University. Gabby completed her predoctoral internship at UC Davis Student Health and Counseling Services within their eating disorder emphasis position, and is currently completing her postdoctoral fellowship at UCSD EDC. Gabby has experience utilizing evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and has worked with a variety of eating disorder presentations in the adult population across levels of care, including partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient. She has also worked with a wide range of possible co-occurring diagnoses over the course of her career, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Bipolar I and II, Depression, Anxiety, Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, and personality disorders. Gabby’s clinical interests include working with young adults, LGBTQIA+ identified individuals, gender-affirming care, body neutrality/acceptance, and the Health At Every Size approach. On her days off, Gabby enjoys going to concerts, trying new recipes, spending time at the beach, and playing with her cat Basil.
